The best UFO Hunters would have to be right now in our modern time. Simply The UFO Hunters the television show from The History Channel. Recently going thru a battle with sci-fi channel because they to named a show The UFO Hunters. It seems The History Channel has won that suit.Due to the fact that I haven't seen another sci fi based show since the pilot and there have been alot of new shows on The History Channel. UFO Magazine one of the biggest ufo mags on the face of the planet sponsors the show and it's lead creator runs the show. Going to famous hot spots across the world. Shows have included police officers interviewed who have seen odd circumstances involving ufos and received ridicule from the public for doing so. The show brings in the hard balls to scrape thru terrain to look for hard evidence. Shows have included also The Betty and Barney Hill case and evidence from the case unearthed restudied. We have also seen people claiming to have alien artifacts in their skin have them surgically removed. One object taken out jumped around and avoided the scapel at all costs with a bizarre intelligence.
Certainly this show is making and breaking new grounds when it comes to this phenomena that so many have scoffed at over the years. Cases involving military personnel have been studied as well. Ufos dropping debris into the ocean and on the sea shore in one city where the debris killed a man's dog and ruined his boat. Loving the professionalism of the show I must say these are the true UFO Hunters going out to the sites and simply declaring Hoax or History? Coming on every night at Wednesday you will find me glued to the television. It actually happens to be the only show I watch these days. We can only hope this show has many seasons of showing veteran ufo hunters on the prowl and that each new case they crack open brings shock to the masses. The best ufo hunters I have seen yet to this day besides the one you can find in the books and documentaries. Who all should be recognized for bringing light to these strange mysteries. We can only hope this show is putting those in the government on their tip toes regarding universal truths they seem to deem we aren't worthy enough to receive. |

"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here." |

| personally i think it was a cheap shot on the history channels side that they got into a snit with sci fi over the ufo hunters title, the history channel already had a succesful ufo series in place called ufo files , they stomped on sci fi ...sci fi has ghost hunters and so the "hunters" part should have remained with sci fi but the history channel changed the existing name of their show..it was petty ...i do watch ufo hunters on the history channel ..its pretty interesting ...sci fi posed no threat to the history channel ...people that are interested in this subject matter would have watched both..just my opinion |

| I'm getting rather bored of UFO shows. I've seen Every episode of UFO Files, and when I watched that UFO Hunter thing I saw a lot of the same things from UFO Files. It would be interesting if some sort of new happening took place and more than one city saw it. You know, like a whole state or something. Now that would catch my eye. |

Actually, unbeknownst to most, the Sci Fi UFO Hunters show was only supposed to be a one-off special. The producers WANTED it to be a series like the History Channel's show--but it was never meant to be that. (Of course had ratings been through the roof it probably would have been turned into a series.)
In other words, the producers of the show advertised it like a series in the hopes of creating buzz so that it would become one. Either that or they're complete morons who didn't know they were creating a one-off special. In fact, they are morons either way. If you were doing a one-off special that you hoped would get high enough ratings to turn into a series, would you go head-to-head with another show premiering with the exact same title on another network? Ricockulous.
As for the name debate, History Channel owned it first. They did a UFO Hunters special, I believe, before the Ghost Hunters show existed. I know it sounds like Ghost Hunters should be followed by UFO Hunters--to our ear it's logical, right? But it really doesn't have to do with that.
In truth, it more has to do with the parent companies, Disney and Universal, fighting tooth and nail for cable TV supremacy. Disney notoriously fights for everything. So it's not even a "Bill Birnes" or "UFO Magazine" issue. |

| I'm an avid viewer of UFO Hunters, i've posted threads praising the work they do and the professionalism they maintain. It's a well developed series that I'll continue to watch as long as it's televised. |
